I had so much fun with this week's challenge!!!

My title is The Anatomy of a Sneaker and as you can see from the photo, I really had my sneaker sectioned.

My evidence this week : I used gesso to white wash my background, there were circles on the background paper but I added others with a toilet paper roll and black and light blue acrylic paints, and with a sequin waste and some light light pink acrylic paint. The gray paint is actually silver and it is shimmery IRL.

For the background of my page I also used a foam stamp,a brick stencil with Distress Ink and some very old rub-ons. And of course stitching.

As for my journaling I wrote 3 interesting things about my subject:

- Nike sneakers don't do well at 60°C in the washing machine

- I guess it was a sign from above that it's time to get a new pair of tennis shoes

- It was fascinating to try to recompose the shoe. Needless to say that at the end there were a couple of left over pieces!?

tiziano + giorgia

I did a little photoshoot with my godson Tiziano and his girlfriend Giorgia at the end of May for my photography class. 

After an initial embarassement and some giggles, I got some really really good shots. The luvbirds were very easy to shoot, very natural and almost as if they were used to having a photographer hovering around them.

Fish on the grill

Franco bought a couple of giltheads (some kind of sea bass... I think) yesterday and we had them on the grill for dinner.

Andrea was in charge of the grill

I guess he was checking how them buddies were doing...

Franco was in charge of cleaning the cooked fish

And I was in charge of documenting how all this yumminess came to be

CSI #23

Another week has gone by and here is the next case to be solved at CSI.

 

 

 

Here is my layout "Believe in each other"

Fantastic colors. I love yellow and combined with the other colors in the color palette this a was just yummy combination.

For the background I used gesso, acrylic paints, book pages, doilies, stamps, stencils and stitching.

I scrapped a photo of my godson and his girlfriend. As for the evidence this time I used rub-ons, flowers (also rub-ons), stripes (pieces of washi tape and Heidi Swapp's tape) and Tim Holtz's film strip as a translucent element.

As for my journaling I wrote a letter to my godson on the back of the layout. I thanked him for having done a photo shoot for me for one of my assignments in my photography class. I also told him that nobody knows what will happen and if the budding love story with his girlfriend will last but if they believe in each other, they have a good foundation on which to build their relationship.

CSI #22

I'm not usually a great fan of red and blue together but this time I had the perfect photo and the perfect childhood memory of Andrea to showcase.

For my evidence I used ribbon, wet medium (gesso), border punch and fibers.

My journaling is on the back of my layout and it is about Andrea's childhood memory:

The best part of baking a cake - or when your mother or sister bakes it - is licking the bowl. How can that dough or cream or frosting taste so good? It's ten times better than the actual cake. Andrea is licking the bowl after Kristina made a cake when Aunt Donna, Aunt Andy, Aunt Carolyn and Grandma were visiting us from the States in 2003.
