Album di stoffa / Fabric album

Ho finalmente finito un altro progetto del Pacs 2007! Non è che ci sono voluti proprio 2 anni e mezzo per finirlo, diciamo che aspettava lì insieme ad altri venti-trenta progetti che mi venisse l'ispirazione. L'ispirazione mi è venuta ai primi di febbraio, poi l'ho abbandonata un'altra volta e poi l'ho completato sabato scorso.
Il corso di mixed media l'ho fatto con Céline H . Ammetto che il progetto non mi è piaciuto molto perchè era molto complicato e proprio non nelle mie corde. L'ho anche detto a Céline che mi ha comunque incoraggiata a finirlo. E sono contentissima del risultato: molto diverso dall'originale, molto meno shabby, meno grunge e meno mixed media, ma molto più "mio" come d'altronde dovrebbe essere. Mica creiamo i nostri album per gli altri.  Il corso era molto tecnico: abbiamo cominciato con il tingere la stoffa ed abbiamo terminato con la photo transfer con il gel medium che è stata complicatissima e delicatissima. Non mi è piaciuto il risultato delle foto molto anticate o consumate, quindi una volta tornata a casa, ho stampato le foto sulla Iron-on Transfer paper, per intenderci quella carta che si usa per stampare immagini da applicare anche sulle T-shirt. Ho cucito il tutto a mano eccetto i bordi delle "pagine".
Sono particolarmente felice perchè ho un altro album sulla nostra storia d'amore e per di più ho finito un altro progetto "vecchio".

I've finally finished another project started back in 2007 in Paris. It didn't actually take 2 and a half years to create, let's just say that it was there together with the other 20-30 unfinished projects waiting for the right inspiration from me. The inspiration came at the beginning of February this year, then I abandoned the project once again until I finally completed it this past Saturday.
The workshop I took at Pacs was with Céline H. I admit I wasn't enthusiastic about the class, the project was complicated and completely out of my comfort zone. I told Céline that but she encouraged me to finish the album nevertheless. And I'm happy I did. Mine is different from the original, a lot less shabby, less grunge and less  mixed media, it's much more "me" and that's how it's supposed to be. We don't make our albums for other people but for us - at least I do.
We used a lot of complicated techniques in this class: we started with painting the fabric (which I would skip now if I were to make another fabric album) and ended with doing a complicated and delicate photo transfer with gel medium. I have to say that I wasn't happy with the result so as soon as I got back home I printed the photos on an Iron-on Transfer Paper. The whole album is hand stitced except for the stithing on the borders.
I'm very happy with the result, firstly because now I have another album of our love story and secondly because I've finished another "old" project.
