Some multiphoto layouts

I'm still using the papers from my Cocoa Daisy January kit - also because my Feb kit has not yet arrived  *frowning*. The Italian postal system takes its sweet time to deliver packages that have been shipped 3-4 weeks ago...

These photos are from Father's Day last year (in Italy Father's Day is celebrated on March 19 as opposed to late November as in Finland or in June as in the States). Andrea had prepared a card for Franco and Valentina bought some pastries. Kristina was in London at the time.

These photos were taken in 93/94 in Finland. I really do have to scrap more photos of the years when the girls were little before I forget EVERYTHING!

21st February challenge

Amanda thought it would be fun to let loose and create freely what you have in mind being inspired by just one photo…. So let’s see what this image drives you to scrap!!! Create a layout using this photo as inspiration. Use the colours or textures, or whatever speaks to you.

I used a lot of flowers with the same colors of the kernels and added texture by sewing the flowers and using pearls and buttons. Valentina and Daniele were my models when I was practicing for my photography class last year. The assignment was on focus and white balance. The photo is actually very much in focus, whereas the photo of the layout has a lot softer focus.

 

February 14th challenge at The Studio

this is my take on The Studio 's February 14th challenge. This is what was asked of us:

make a page about the love of our life (person, chocolate bar, whatever) without using pink or red.

I used a light yellow and bluish patterned paper from my Cocoa Daisy Dec kit, circles cut out of a ledger paper, a Heidi Swapp ghost heart with some old book paper distressed with DI Faded Jeans and a flourish stamped on it behind the heart, a Prima flower, a Tim Holtz Idealogy foliage piece, some MM puffy alphabet and Jenni Bowlin stickers for the title. Behind the photo I used a piece of brown cardstock where I got to use my new Martha Stewart Doily Lace border punch. I also misted the background with some Tattered Andgel Coffee Shop and Tiger Lily Glimmer mists.

I used a Sketchy Thursday's sketch for this layout.

I made this layout for February's challenge at Cocoa Daisy.

We had to use a quote that inspires us and then use colors that the quote inspired us. My quote is from Henry David Thoreau:

"Happiness is like a butterfly - the more you chase it, the more it will elude you. But if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and softly sit on your shoulder."

I just had the perfect paper with some peach and light blue from my Cocoa Daisy January kit, and I wanted to use these photos of me. I misted the background with Glimmer mists Perfect Peach and Patina, wrote the quote around my patterned paper and mimicked the butterfly's flight with stitching the loops with some thread.

 

In a scrapping mood

Yesterday and today I was in a mood to scrapbook.

I pulled out my Cocoa Daisy January kit and created these 3 layouts.

This is about my godson and what a fine young man he has become. I used a distressing tool and Distress Inks, watered down white acrylic paint, staples. I wrote the journaling on the computer, printed it and cut into strips. 

I made the flower using Wendy's stamps and Kelly Panacci's stamps. I printed the flowers on an old book paper which I had distressed with Peeled Paint. I attached the layers with a Basic Grey brad.

The second layout is about Valentina's knee operation a few years back and about her innate sense of style.. even on crutches.

I used bubble wrap and acrylic paints + different circle stamps for the background.

This is scraplift of my own layout. Loved doing that. Why re-invent the wheel...

Love this photo with all that lovely bokeh on the background.

I misted the background with a couple of different  Tattered Angel's Glimmer mists and stamped a Tim Holtz flower image. Love that stamp!

Here's e detailed shot of the heart. It's Heidi Swapp's ghost heart. I used once again DI Peeled Paint on a book page and then I attached the heart to it with the Tiny Attacher.

 

My Sweet Prince

I made this Valentine's heart for my son. When I gave it to him he was genuinely thrilled and then he asked somewhat incredulously: "Am I your prince?" What a sweetie! 

I'm participating with this to GC41: Chestnut Challenge - Romance over at the Gingersnap Creations.

 

I swiped on the craft sheet Distress Inks Broken China and Walnut Stain close to each other, misted the inks with water and perfect pearl mixture (mixed previously in a mini mister) and put my heart on top of it and swiped and tapped my hand on the heart. I heated it to fix the colors and then I repeated the procedure.

I completed the coloring with the same Distress Ink colors and the blending tool. I wanted some more movement and added some modeling paste here and there and around the edges. I dried it with the heating tool and then re-inked with the blending tool. This was my first time with the modeling paste and I had no idea how much I should use, just went with my instincs, hah, and it turned out quite nice if I say so myself.

 
 

I stamped on the right side with a Prima brick stamp using black Archival Ink. The bird and the leaves are Basic Grey chipboard pieces. i used Distress Ink Peeled Paint for the leaves and stamped on them with Wendy's Studio 490 background stamp using Coffee Archival Ink. I put some modeling paste also on the bird's belly and tail. It's inked with DI Black Soot and Starlite Silver Brilliance. On top I brushed silver perfect pearls. (which you can't see on these pics).

 
I heat set a turquoise rhinestone for the birdie's eye and put some more here and there on the heart. I also added a silver crown to the birdie's head. For my title I used Heidi Swapp's rub-on letters, put some white Dabber on the round metal token and glued the xoxo to an adage ticket that I had cut in two. The XOXO is the backing sheet of a stamp. I attached the adage ticket with a clip, hung the metal charm with a jump ring and a tiny safety pin to the wire that I had looped around a pencil to make the "coils". I backed the word Sweet (already carved in the Making Memory's heart) with a chocolate Bazzill cardstock and voilà!

 

28 years is a long time...

...to be married. Today me and my darling Hubs celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. It's been a long and sometimes winding road but I'd do it again in a heart beat. It's just getting better and better.

I made this wall hanging for him - well, for us:)))

 It's made with Distress Inks (Fired Brick and Broken China) and Perfect Pearls with the technique I used also for these cards.

I added words with Technique Tuesday's stamps using black Archival Ink. The rose is not grungepaper (gasp!) but made of MME double sided patterned paper. I distressed the edges with Fired Brick and added some stickles at the end to have a little bit of bling...but not too much. I put the eyelets with the Big Bite and used Tim's Ideology chain. The heart is an old Making Memories chipboard heart.

Here's a detailed shot of the rose. It turned out perfect but I keep repeating that grungepaper is easier to work with.

 

Snow in Rome !!??

Yes, it happened this morning. It started to snow around 8 o'clock, very big, wet snow flakes which at first did't stick to the ground but after an hour or so this is what I saw outside my window:

 

And my poor lemon tree:

 

But it didn't last very long and now it's all gone.

instead of working, shhhhhhhh!

I subscribed to Cocoa Daisy's kits around Christmas and I got 3 kits together (I asked them to be sent together). I love these kits: they are rich, versatile, yummy to create with. The papers for all the following layouts are from Cocoa Daisy's November kit. 

The first two layouts are based on Sketchy Thursday's sketches.

those paper flowers are handmade. Followed a tutorial on The Studio forum from Fabi but I used my own twist on it. When the flowers were rolled, I flattened them because at least mine were too bulky.

I miss my Girls :(

And my Baby is growing so fast. These layouts are all kinda emotional.

I painted on the background with Making Memories watered down Chocolate and splashed a bit of Ranger's Gold Dabber. Attached the ribbon with Tim Holtz's Tiny Attacher. I'm happy that in all three layouts I've kept my promise to use something old in every layout (the Die Cut square in the first one, the ribbons in the second, and Heidi Swapp acetate watch and 7Gypsies photo turns + old buttons)

 I used Creative Scrappers' sketch #56 for this.

Can't stop now!

Other two layouts made this weekend.

For this one I used Creative Scrappers sketch # 72 and I used it also for a weekly challenge at Cocoa Daisy where the sketch was very similar. I misted the half circles with Glimmer mist Tiger Lily. For the title I used some stickers which I removed after misting. Love these photos of Franco and Andrea playing at the beach in Crete last summer.

 

 

 This is a layout I made for Cocoa Daisy's weekly promts. We had to use old stash. I used papers from last year's Girls Loft kit and some very old embellies (the cars which are most likely of Rayher's from way back). Andrea was 5 yrs old in these pictures.

 

I had 3 friends over for a crop yesterday: it was fantastic. We made two types of paper flowers and Distress Ink + Perfect Pearl backgrounds for cards and fimo jewelry. Next time we'll be doing felt necklaces and something else which we haven't decided yet. Love to create in company!
