This past weekend there was big scrapbooking event in Naples. I signed for it at the last moment because I waited for my daughter to come home from London. As soon as I knew she was staying a whole week, I decided to sneak out for a day to scrap with Heidi Swapp, Wendy Senger, Céline Navarro and an Italian scrapbooker Manu who always has really cute projects to propose.
But let's start from the beginning. I arrived in Castellammare di Stabia in the wee hours of the morning: my hubby and son took me there, then they spent the day at Franco's family's who live in Naples and then they came to pick me up at 9 pm after 12 hours and 5 fabulous classes.
I started with Wendy Senger, the owner of Tattered Angels with whom we had the Glimmer Mist 101 class which is full of techniques.
Here are some samples of the 25 pages we misted. That class was an eye opener for me: I had previously used the glimmer mists but just spraying them quite timidly:)
then it was Manu's turn.
We made a fabulous little keepsake to carry in a purse.
With Céline we created a minialbum.
On the covers we put gesso and then we "painted" them with Alcohol Inks. I still have to put photos in the album. They will be of the cruise to Mexico.
The last two classes I had with the sweet Heidi. She had all of us in tears, herself included, after she told the story behind the Once in a Lifetime album.
Here are some piccies of my Once in a Lifetime album. I have to add photos in here too.
The last class was the new Fastenation Folder where we could put to good use the notions and tricks we had learned the same morning with Wendy about the Glimmer mists.
We decorated the back spine with glimmer misted crepe paper. I made one more at home and stamped on it with black Archival Ink to emulate a little bit the Crepe Ribbon Heidi had on her album. Unfortunately those and other Tattered Angels products are hitting the market only a couple of weeks from now so I couldn't buy them :( Well, my wallet is happy about it.
The day went by very fast. I'm happy to have had the opportunity to take wonderful classes from wonderful instructors and to have shared 3 classes with my best Greek friend Elina, with whom we travel all over the world to take classes:)
