THE LAST ONE BEFORE OUR VACATION

"When life gives you lemons" is the title of my page I created for Once Upon A...Sketch. This is Nadia Cannizzo's sketch

 

and the journaling criteria was:  

Who is in the photo? Name the person in the photo and at least 1 fact about them. This can be personality, character, talent , achievement etc. but it must be at least 2 sentences long. 

I flipped the sketch and scrapped this funny photo of me taken by Andrea about a month ago. The journaling says:

"When life gives you lemons... you better eat them, or make a pie or lemonade. I'm not always chirpy and happy but life has taught me that with a positive attitude, you can overcome obstacles and turn difficult situations into a victory!"

 Painted some strokes with an old credit card, added some bits and bobs...

 

made a flower with a punch, a circle and a button (all attached with foam dots for dimension)...

 

stitched several circles around the photos, added some yellow paint with a sequin waste and splattered some black paint before adding my title and the journaling. This was fun.

BTW we have two lemon trees which both grow wonderful lemons all year round:)

Now I will continue to pack our suitcases. Franco and I are leaving tomorrow to go to Finland for a couple of weeks. Will be back at the end of July. Enjoy your summer (or winter in Australia and New Zealand!!).

 

PORTRAIT SHOOT WITH VALENTINA - PART 2

I finally edited the rest of the photos of Valentina's photo shoot which we did two months ago...

This is one of my faves of the day.

This has not been edited other than sharpened and resized for the web. She is slim but here she looks way too skinny!!

 

 

 

Ok, here I forgot to do something about the shoulder of the tank top. Oh well...

More Art Journal pages

I've totally forgotten to upload these pages I did back in May. Truth be told, I haven't done more after that but I'm planning on continuing when I come back from Finland at the end the month.

So liberating when you just play for fun. I remember I re-did parts of this page I think 3 times because I didn't like the outcome. Now I love it:)

Love the splatters and the circles and the masking/misting but the flowers aren't my favorite.

This is so far one of my faves. I was inspired by Christy Tomlinson for the house. She does awesome art journal pages. Love her videos. She does write A LOT :)))

Fab 50's

is my layout for CCG#198. This combo was also the color combo for the new DT call at CCG. The new DT is full of great ladies with fab creative talent. 

The colors were not the easiest ones for me to use and vintage/retro/shabby is not really my cup of tea as they say in the UK, but I'm really happy with the result and to have tried something so out of my comfort zone. 

I just happened to have a photo of me leaning on a 50's Chevy (or maybe it's 60's - I don't know anything about cars) and decided to cut the silhouette - that's a first for me. But I thought it gave really a vintagy feel to the layout. The photo was taken in 2007 when we spent 5 weeks in the States visiting family and friends.

I also downloaded some images of the 50's (the Drive-in, the Jukebox and the Diner) and mounted them on chipboard. The stamps are original from the 70's when I spent a year as an exchange student in the States. Geez, has it been that long?? I feel kind of vintagy myself, LOL!

 

On top of the ledger paper I punched out circles and then mounted soda bottle caps from TimHoltz's Lost and Found paper stack first on cardstock and then I attached them with foam dots. Love the effect.

I stitched the ledger paper to the powder blue paper and that onto black cardstock. The Tigers fabric tag is also stitched on the paper.
