I'm really excited. This is my first layout as a DT member at Once Upon a Sketch. Talk about pressure, LOL!
I was introduced at the OUAS blog at the end of June in this post. There are 29 wonderful and talented artists in the Design Team. Be sure to check their blogs.
So here are the deets about July challenge:
We would like you to create a layout and interpret the theme "Friend" however you like based on the following sketch. You can journal as little or as much as you like, but your layout must incorporate this theme and the sketch below. Please make sure that we see some sort of journalling on your layouts and please tell us where your journalling is . Hidden journalling is perfectly fine.
Ideas for journalling: one of your current friends, a childhood friend, an unexpected friendship, what having friends mean for you, a friend that you miss or have lost, family member who is your closest friend, a scrappy/online friend, a special person that has touched your life, someone who has helped you out lately, a friend that you couldn't do without, your children's friends / classmates etc., your pet and the friendship you have with it..
I
Here is my interpretation.

I scrapped a page about my friend Paola who I met through scrapbooking. We've been together at CKU in Provo back in 2008 - wonderful memories - and then in Mykonos in 2010 where I took this photo during one of the excursions we did while attending the scrap event. My journaling is written on the tag which I slipped behind the photo.
The background is made decoupaging book paper and then painted with Pan Pastels mixed with white acrylic paint. I then layered different papers, tags, an envelope and ribbon, stitched them to the background and then stamped on them.
